In Agreement 1 of the UW-NU exploratory partnership (February–June 2011), a team of UW–Madison faculty and staff worked with NU administrators to: develop recommendations for an undergraduate liberal arts curriculum; create faculty hiring protocols in NU’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS); build a collection for the NU Library; and identify different learning support services.
In Agreement 2 (October 2011–March 2012), the UW–Madison team developed recommendations to help SHSS refine its curriculum and hiring plans and worked with NU administrators to address critical areas like establishing an Office of the Registrar, delineating clear admissions procedures, developing a quality assurance and assessment framework, and creating co-curricular activities.
